Maricela is used mostly in Spanish and English, and its language of origin is Latin, Spanish, and Hebrew. The name is a combination of María and Celia. In Spanish, the beautiful name "Maricela" means "of Mars." Mars was the mythological Roman god of fertility for whom the month of March was named, and is mythologically identified with the Greek war god Ares.

I learned how to do lampworking, or glass sculpture in the late 1990's while stationed near Panama City Beach, Florida. My mentor was Russ Gilbert, the owner of Fusion Art Glass in the beach town of Seaside. I would walk the sugar-white beaches of Panama City to find driftwood and seashells, which I could then incorporate into my lampwork sculptures. I have done a good number of names, animals, roses, necklace pendants, and more.
